A QUICK HISTORY
Formed in the suburbs of Los Angeles by Vocalist Raul Preciado & Guitarist Joey Torres, RETRO RADIO deliver a fresh look at the past few decades of popular Rock, what was called "New Wave" & what is now considered "Classic Rock".
In an effort to assemble a band of players that also share a love for the music of the 80s & 90s, Raul & Joey enlisted the skills of Drummer, Steve Pacheco & Bassist, Scott Taylor. Together they are a band of players inspired by the great songs of yesterday & channel that energy into their live performances.
ON A MUSICAL MISSION...
The musical mission of RETRO RADIO is to recapture the vibe of the original artists, but with a modern enthusiasm & attitude that modern fans can enjoy. Add that to a high energy live show that not only does justice to the music but brings to the forefront the experience of seeing a great band perform yesterday's mega-hits today.
THE SONGS
The original intent of RETRO RADIO was to only play songs that are commonly referred to as "One Hit Wonders", as these are the ones that are the crowd pleasers. RETRO RADIO have held onto this premise but have added other artists who have had the good fortune to have more than one chart appearance. This flexability prompted the band to annoint themselves, "Everyone's Favorite Bar Band!"
From AC/DC to ZZ Top, RETRO RADIO play only the best of the best.
SHOWS
Over the past few years, RETRO RADIO have played at venues throughout Los Angeles including, most recently, The Stardust in Downey, The Wild Coyote in Montebello & RETRO RADIO's favorite hangout, The Rock It Cafe in Hawthorne.
In addition to various clubs, RETRO RADIO has made numerous appearances on local cable television. "Thee Mr. Duran Show", Adelphia Cable channel 6, has been extremely kind to RETRO RADIO by allowing them a considerable amount of airtime.
